TL;DR:

We literally cannot see your files. They never leave your browser. We don't collect personal data. We don't use tracking cookies. We don't sell anything.

1. Data Collection & Processing

What We DON'T Collect:

  • Your Excel files: Processing happens in your browser's memory (RAM). Files are never uploaded to any server.
  • Personal information: No name, email, or account creation required.
  • Tracking cookies: We don't use Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics remarketing, or similar trackers.
  • IP addresses: We don't log IP addresses for user identification.

What We DO Collect (Minimal):

  • Anonymous usage stats: We use privacy-focused analytics (Plausible or similar) to track page views and feature usage (e.g., "X people used Merge tool today"). This data is aggregated and cannot be tied to individuals.
  • Error logs: If the tool crashes, we may collect technical error messages (but NOT your file content) to fix bugs.

2. How Client-Side Processing Works

When you select a file using our tool:

  1. Your browser reads the file from your hard drive (using the File API)
  2. JavaScript/WebAssembly code processes it in your device's RAM
  3. The output file is generated and saved back to your Downloads folder
  4. No network request is made during steps 1-3

Proof: Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12) and check the Network tab while using our tool. You'll see zero file upload requests.

3. Advertising & Monetization

To keep this service free, we display non-personalized ads via Google AdSense or similar networks. These ads:

  • Do NOT have access to your uploaded files
  • May use basic device information (browser type, screen size) for ad placement
  • Are governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours

4. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Since we don't collect personal data, we are inherently compliant with:

  • GDPR (EU): No data to request, delete, or export.
  • CCPA (California): We don't "sell" user data because we don't have it.

5. Third-Party Services

We use:

  • Cloudflare: For CDN and DDoS protection (minimal logging)
  • Plausible Analytics: Privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant analytics

6. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our data practices (e.g., start collecting emails for a newsletter), we'll update this page and show a notification banner.
