- Excel file merging (combining multiple .xlsx files)
- Excel file splitting (by sheets or row count)
- Sheet selection and deduplication
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
2. User Responsibilities
You Must:
- Backup your data: Always keep original copies of files before processing.
- Use legally: Only process files you own or have permission to modify.
- Respect limits: Don't abuse the service with automated scripts or excessive usage.
You Must NOT:
- Use the tool to process illegal content (pirated software lists, stolen data, etc.)
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code
- Resell or white-label this service without written permission
- Use bots or scripts to overload our servers
3. Limitations of Liability
⚠️ IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
While we strive for accuracy, Excel is a complex format with thousands of edge cases. We are NOT LIABLE for:
- Data loss or corruption: If the merge/split produces unexpected results
- Business losses: Lost time, revenue, or opportunity costs
- Compatibility issues: Some Excel features (macros, embedded objects) may not survive processing
Maximum liability: $0 (we're a free service).
4. Acceptable Use Policy
Fair Use: We don't impose hard file size or usage limits, but we monitor for abuse. If we detect you're hammering the server with thousands of requests (e.g., running a commercial service on top of ours), we may block your IP.
Commercial Use: You MAY use this tool for business purposes (e.g., merging employee data at work). You MAY NOT build a competing paid service using our infrastructure.
5. Intellectual Property
The excelsort.com brand, logo, and UI design are proprietary. The tool uses open-source libraries (SheetJS, JSZip) which are licensed separately under their own terms.
6. Service Changes & Availability
We may:
- Add or remove features at any time
- Experience downtime for maintenance (usually announced via banner)
- Shut down the service permanently (we'd give 30 days notice if possible)
7. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of India (where our company is registered).
Disputes: If you have an issue, contact us at legal@excelsort.com before taking legal action. We'll try to resolve it amicably.
